The building that hosted the Dorothy Annan Murals had to give way due to a new site development. The murals have been granted a Grade II listing therefore the decision has been taken to move the mural to the Barbican Center. Allford Hall Monaghan Morris Architecture was in charge of the movement and the design at the new site. Mindseye Lighting was asked to do the lighting.
We took the decision to design a bespoke profile that would host and disguise the necessary luminaires. Aim was to create a crisp bight light that would simulate the sun shining steeply at a mural. The light emphasises the colour but also the beautiful roughness of the tiles.
