Following the huge success of the George V Paris store, Park Lane in London is the second of BMW's new city centre 'Brand Store' concepts developed by Paris based luxury brand specialist architects: Carbondale. The spectacular so called 'Avenue' runs the full length of the space with an almost unbelievably huge lighting coffer above, providing the perfect flat, top lighting that cars need to be shown at their best.
Throughout the scheme the lighting is characterised by large surfaces and continuous lines of light which reflect and model the curves of the vehicles.
In the double height space which connects ground and lower ground, the low definition media wall provides a dynamic and exciting brand related graphic art experience, attracting customer's attention to the lower floor. Designed, developed, manufactured, installed and commissioned by Mindseye from start to finish, even the content running on the wall has been designed and programmed by Mindseye.
The windows facing Park Lane have a unique treatment designed by Carbondale: LCD panels which animate the Façade and create a regular pattern in combination with the columns between windows. They switch from opaque to transparent in sync with a specific lighting treatment, creating movement across the facade at night.
